Q1. In what areas does SITTERNEEDED™ provide service?
Our initial service area is planned for a 50-mile radius from the center of Dallas. We are excited to offer services to all of the cities in this area. We will continually expand our service area as we hire and train additional sitters from local nursing schools.
Q2. What type of screening is completed for the sitters?
All of our sitters must be a current nursing student in good standing at their respective university/college. It is a condition of nursing programs that all students obtain the following prior to beginning nursing courses: background check, drug screening, CPR certification and ensure immunizations are up to date. It is this commitment to their professional training and to the community at large that sets nursing students apart as a premier choice in on-demand childcare.
Q3. What are the rates for services?
We are pleased to offer a professional and trusted solution for childcare by both employing nursing students and providing professional mentorship and training. As a result, we will offer competitive pay to our sitters; however, we aim to balance that cost with your family's need for affordable child care. We will publish all costs on our website and literature as soon as possible prior to fully launching our services. To begin a care relationship with SITTERNEEDED™, you will first select a membership option that best meets your family's childcare needs. Hourly rates for services, will be based on membership selection and the number and ages of children to be cared for during a care assignment.
Q4. Do the sitters come to my house?
Yes, our services are provided on-site in your home. We know as busy parents, the commute time to and from school, activities, and errands already adds time and stress to your day. We are excited to come to you and provide safe care in your home where your child is comfortable and has access to all of their favorite items such as toys and foods.
Q5. Does SITTERNEEDED™ provide respite care?
We are not currently registered as a respite care provider; however, this is an expanded service offering that we may add in the near future.
Q6. Is SITTERNEEDED™ approved/certified to provide care for foster families?
We are not currently registered as an approved provider; however, this is an expanded service offering that we may add in the near future.
Q7. How much notice is required to book a sitter?
Our goal is to coordinate an ideal care assignment by matching sitter availability and skillsets to each family's specific childcare need. In order to do this, it is very helpful to have as much advance notice of a care need as possible. In the event that a last-minute sitter (same day) request is submitted, we will do our very best to organize a sitter for your need.
